''Parabathymyrus brachyrhynchus'' is an eel in the family Congridae (conger/garden eels).〔(''Parabathymyrus brachyrhynchus'' ) at www.fishbase.org.〕 It was described by Henry Weed Fowler in 1934, originally under the genus ''Ariosoma''.〔Fowler, H. W., 1934 (20 Jan.) (1416 ) ''Descriptions of new fishes obtained 1907 to 1910, chiefly in the Philippine Islands and adjacent seas.'' Proceedings of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia v. 85 (for 1933): 233-367.〕 It is a marine, deep water-dwelling eel which is known from the western central Pacific Ocean. It dwells at a maximum depth of 289 metres. Males can reach a maximum total length of 33 centimetres.〔 The species epithet, "''brachyrhynchus''", refers to the short snout of the species.〔 ==References==
